WW+ is an addition to a mid-century ranch house on the north face of the Santa Monica mountains with dramatic views over the San Fernando valley. The addition rebuilds an existing two-car garage to accommodate a flexible space above with the potential to function as either a bedroom or home-office. The design responds to the formal characteristics of the existing residence - the simple, extruded quality of the lower half with a more complex, volumetric roof shape above - by proposing the creation of an inhabited roof volume.
