másTransit is regional high-speed rail for LA with a landscape to match. It proposes a simple twist into the proposed California High-Speed Rail system, allowing Los Angeles to operate as a mega-hub within the state – simultaneously creating a regional transit infrastructure while increasing interurban connectivity.
This new elevated high-speed loop would complete a 154-mile loop following the I-405 and I-5 freeways in just under 74 minutes. With speeds that beat even bottleneck-free car travel, másTransit becomes the first compelling reason for Angelinos to willingly leave their cars at home. Even while increasing regional mobility, the densification of mixed-use másCommunities also offers the possibility of never needing to travel. másTransit figures a system which simultaneously serves the complex transit patterns of Angelino life while offering the easy to understand system diagram necessary to entice first-time riders.
